Summer is here, and there’s no better time to get in the great outdoors and go camping. Whether you’re happy to ‘rough it’ in a two-man tent, or prefer the luxury of a caravan or RV, one thing’s for sure; you’ll be needing a sleeping bag. An essential for any happy camper, a good sleeping bag will keep you warm and toasty throughout the night. Here’s our top three sleeping bags for the camping season…
If you often feel claustrophobic in a sleeping bag, then the futuristic looking Gelert Illusion Sleeping Pod is ideal. This sleeping bag offers all the warmth and insulation of a traditional bag, but has a wide design to comfortably accommodate nocturnal tossing and turning or sleeping in the foetal position. Plus, its cocoon-like shape is fun and funky!

Eurohike Super Snooze 250
Our cheapest choice -but still cosy- is the Eurohike Super Snooze 250 Sleeping Bag, which has a unique rectangular design to allow for extra room and is suitable for 2-3 season use. It comes with a carrying sack, is lightweight at 1kg and at just £20, the whole family can have one!
At a whopping £250, the North Face Blue Kazoo Mummy Sleeping Bag is a considered purchase, but for keen campers and hikers, this is the ultimate lightweight sleeping bag. Made from Hungarian goose down, the Blue Kazoo offers great warmth (3 season use) but is astonishingly light, at just 1kg in weight. But our favourite feature has to be the glow-in-the-dark pull loop on the zipper…genius!
